A new trail map is on its way; the printable PDF will follow it. Until then, the Directions link under Getting there leads to the Preserve.

What to look for

The Preserve is a sensitive area to be enjoyed, but protected. It offers surprises at any time of the year.

  • On the water

Waterfront vistas across Cozy Cove. A kingfisher sometimes chatters from the water’s edge, or an eagle lands in the lily pads for a bath.

  • In spring

Bird life prevails. Song sparrows and chickadees sing in the trees, and the quiet observer will find robins sitting on nests in low shrubs.

  • Also seen

Bald eagles, osprey, heron, woodpeckers, spotted towhees and hummingbirds, and red-eared pond sliders laying eggs by the upper meadow trail.
